Ahead of the presentation of Tamil Nadu's dedicated Agriculture Budget, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin conducted an extensive consultative meeting with representatives of agricultural associations and farming federations across the Madurai region. Gathering directly with grassroots cultivators as part of his Kala Aayvil Mudhalamaichar field tour, Stalin listened attentively to their concerns regarding irrigation canal desilting, crop insurance coverage, procurement price revisions, and organic farming incentives.
The Chief Minister reiterated that Tamil Nadu was the first major state to introduce a separate, dedicated Agriculture Budget, reflecting his government's profound structural commitment to farmer welfare and rural economic stability. He assured the farmers that their practical inputs, regional demands, and field perspectives would be systematically integrated into the upcoming legislative budgetary proposals. Stalin highlighted ongoing state initiatives, including free agricultural electricity, micro-irrigation subsidies, and modernized direct procurement centers designed to shield growers from middlemen.
Stalin reaffirmed that the state administration regards the prosperity of cultivators as the vital foundation of Tamil Nadu's food security and economic health. He pledged that the government will continue to champion agrarian interests through sustainable investments in water conservation and farm mechanization.
