During his administrative field inspection in Madurai, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin chaired a comprehensive review meeting with top police officers from the southern zone, issuing stringent directives to safeguard public order and communal peace. Stalin instructed inspector generals, commissioners, and district superintendents to move beyond merely registering first information reports, emphasizing that achieving rigorous and timely conviction rates in courtrooms is crucial to deter criminal activity.
The Chief Minister specifically ordered proactive measures to eliminate caste-based tensions, curb illicit narcotics networks, and reduce fatal road accidents through disciplined enforcement and modern traffic engineering. He highlighted that preserving communal harmony and social equilibrium is essential to sustain industrial investments and protect vulnerable communities across southern districts. Stalin directed officers to take strict, non-partisan action against organized rowdyism and illegal sand mining gangs without yielding to local political influence.
Stalin also underscored the importance of compassionate, approachable policing at the station level, ensuring women, elderly citizens, and marginalized complainants receive prompt attention and dignity. He assured the department of advanced technological and forensic support to strengthen prosecution investigations and secure swift judicial convictions.
