Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the landmark 50th edition of the ICT Academy Bridge conference in Chennai, organized under the theme 'Building Human Capital for a Trillion-Dollar Digital Economy'. In his inaugural address, Stalin recalled the visionary strides taken by former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, whose pioneering IT policies in the late 1990s laid the foundation for Tamil Nadu's emergence as a premier global technological and software hub.
The Chief Minister stressed that sustaining high economic growth and reaching the one-trillion-dollar state economy target requires continuous upskilling of the youth population. Tamil Nadu produces one of the largest talent pools of engineering graduates in South Asia, and aligning academic curriculum with high-growth industries like artificial intelligence, cloud architecture, and cybersecurity is critical. Stalin emphasized that technological growth must bridge regional disparities, bringing knowledge-based IT opportunities into tier-two and tier-three regional cities across Tamil Nadu.
Stalin commended the ICT Academy for training thousands of university faculty and rural students. He affirmed the government's unwavering commitment to expanding digital infrastructure, fostering high-tech startup ecosystems, and generating high-paying technology careers for state youth.
