Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced the preparation of a Detailed Project Report to establish an Agriculture Industrial Corridor spanning Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Mayiladuthurai, and Nagapattinam districts. Speaking as a native of the Cauvery Delta region, Stalin expressed immense pride and satisfaction with the vision articulated in the state's dedicated Agriculture Budget. He emphasized that transforming primary farm produce into high-value processed goods will generate substantial commercial opportunities for local cultivators.

The proposed agro-industrial corridor aims to establish modern storage hubs, cold chain logistics, food processing parks, and export-oriented marketing infrastructure throughout the Delta heartland. By integrating advanced processing units close to agricultural fields, the initiative eliminates post-harvest losses and shields cultivators from market volatility. Stalin highlighted that creating value-addition facilities within rural districts will also generate skilled employment for youth, preventing forced migration to urban centers.

Stalin reaffirmed that the Cauvery Delta holds a central place in Tamil Nadu's agrarian identity and collective consciousness. The Chief Minister declared that his government will spare no effort in transforming the delta into an economically resilient, environmentally sustainable, and highly productive agricultural powerhouse.
