Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin highlighted his administration's remarkable administrative speed in securing a PM MITRA Mega Textile Park in Virudhunagar district. The Union government formally announced seven textile parks across India on March 17. Demonstrating unmatched efficiency, the Tamil Nadu government allocated the required land within four days, enabling the official Memorandum of Understanding to be signed in the presence of Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal on March 22.
Stalin emphasized that this lightning-fast turnaround exemplifies the dynamism of Tamil Nadu's industrial governance under the Dravidian Model. By moving swiftly from central sanction to land allotment and contractual execution, the state reinforces its status as India's premier investment destination. The mega textile park in Virudhunagar will serve as a massive economic growth engine for southern Tamil Nadu, generating thousands of quality manufacturing jobs for regional youth and expanding global textile exports.
The Chief Minister commended state industries officials for their proactive coordination with central authorities. Stalin reiterated that providing world-class infrastructure and rapid regulatory support remains fundamental to Tamil Nadu's strategy of achieving a balanced, regionally distributed industrial economy.
