Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin participated in the foundation stone laying ceremony for new court complexes in the historic city of Madurai alongside Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud and Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju. Welcoming the distinguished judicial dignitaries, Stalin invoked Madurai's rich heritage rooted in Kannagi's legendary quest for justice against royal overreach. He stated that the ancient city provides an inspiring backdrop for expanding modern institutional infrastructure dedicated to upholding the rule of law.
Stalin highlighted the state administration's ongoing investments to modernize judicial facilities, district courts, and bar associations across southern districts. Providing state-of-the-art courtrooms, digital litigation infrastructure, and spacious facilities for legal practitioners remains essential to accelerating dispute resolution for common citizens. The Chief Minister reiterated that swift access to justice forms an indispensable pillar of democratic accountability and public trust in constitutional governance.
The ceremony brought together judges of the Supreme Court and Madras High Court, advocates, and administrative officials. Stalin assured full budgetary and administrative backing from the Tamil Nadu government to complete the court complex expeditiously, reinforcing the state's collaborative partnership with the judiciary.
