Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin praised the Greater Chennai Police for their commendable achievement in tracking and recovering 1,000 lost and stolen mobile phones within a short timeframe. Through the proactive deployment of the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, specialized cybercrime tracking software, and dedicated district cyber cells, Chennai police swiftly located the devices and returned them to their rightful owners across various neighborhoods in the city.
The Chief Minister commended the police personnel for leveraging modern digital forensics and data tracking systems to address property theft directly affecting ordinary citizens. Stalin observed that a mobile phone is not merely a valuable gadget but contains personal data, financial credentials, and crucial communication links, making its loss a distressing experience for citizens. He noted that prompt tracing and recovery significantly enhances public trust in law enforcement capabilities.
Stalin reiterated that the Dravidian Model governance prioritizes continuous technological upgrading of the state police force. He encouraged officers to maintain their proactive momentum, utilize cutting-edge digital investigative tools, and ensure swift, citizen-centric policing that protects personal property and digital security across Tamil Nadu.
