Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin paid glowing tribute to Thanthai Periyar E.V. Ramasamy on his birth anniversary, celebrated statewide as Social Justice Day. Honoring the visionary rationalist whose crusade demolished oppressive caste hierarchies, religious dogmatism, and gender discrimination, Stalin described Periyar as the ideological architect of modern egalitarian Tamil Nadu. He declared that Periyar's radical concept of self-respect liberated millions of oppressed individuals from generational bondage and instilled an unyielding sense of human dignity.
The Chief Minister noted that the principles championed by Periyar form the philosophical cornerstone of the Dravidian Model administration. From universal education and women's property rights to proportional reservation and scientific temper, Periyar's rationalist ideals continue to guide the state's progressive policies. Stalin stressed that celebrating Social Justice Day is not a passive ritual but a renewed pledge to eradicate remaining social inequities and defend affirmative action against retrograde forces.
Stalin urged the youth and party cadre to study Periyar's extensive writings and carry forward his rationalist mission. He declared that Tamil Nadu will remain an impregnable fortress of social equality, guided by Periyar's uncompromising humanist philosophy.
