Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin led the state in observing 'Samathuva Naal' (Equality Day) on the birth anniversary of revolutionary reformer Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Administering the official Equality Day pledge to government officials and citizens, Stalin honored Ambedkar as a modern Buddha who brought enlightened rationalism to an unequal society stratified by rigid caste hierarchies. Stalin declared that equality is the exact antithesis of Sanatana orthodoxy and represents the true, indispensable meaning of human dignity.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed that Tamil Nadu observes Ambedkar's birth anniversary annually as Equality Day across all government offices, educational institutions, and public bodies. This observance institutionalizes Ambedkar's egalitarian vision, committing public administrators to eradicate caste discrimination, uphold constitutional ethics, and protect marginalized communities through progressive welfare measures.
Stalin emphasized that the Dravidian Model governance works in close ideological resonance with Ambedkar's teachings on social democracy, secularism, and universal brotherhood. He stated that the struggle against caste-based inequality requires continuous legal vigilance, progressive educational policies, and unyielding public awareness to ensure that social justice reaches every quarter of society across the entire state of Tamil Nadu.
