TN & Kerala have traditionally stood as a bulwark against any attempt to erode state autonomy. We will win in our crusade against the gubernatorial overreach too.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin expressed profound gratitude to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for his prompt and resolute response extending complete solidarity to Tamil Nadu's legislative initiative against gubernatorial overreach. Stalin welcomed the Kerala government's decision to consider a similar resolution in their state assembly, commending the shared progressive vision uniting both southern states in defending constitutional democracy.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Tamil Nadu and Kerala have historically stood as an impregnable bulwark against all authoritarian attempts to erode state autonomy, subvert federal principles, or impose centralized hegemony. Stalin observed that appointed Governors in non-BJP ruled states have increasingly overstepped constitutional limits by indefinitely withholding assent to bills duly enacted by elected legislatures, thereby undermining democratic mandates, cabinet decisions, and constitutional governance across non-BJP ruled states.
Reaffirming his determination to resist gubernatorial overreach, Stalin asserted that the joint efforts of progressive state governments will ultimately triumph in re-establishing constitutional propriety. He resolved that Tamil Nadu will continue coordinating with Kerala and other democratic states across India to safeguard the legislative sovereignty of elected state governments and restore genuine, cooperative federal balance throughout the Indian democratic republic.
