In light of my request to Hon @AmitShah last week & persistent demands from different states, @DoPTGoI has decided to hold SSC MTS & CHSLE Exams in 13 state languages.

I thank Hon @DrJitendraSingh for this step & hope it'll be extended to all the exams conducted by Union Govt.

Editorial context

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin welcomed the formal decision taken by the Department of Personnel and Training to conduct the Staff Selection Commission Multi-Tasking Staff and Combined Higher Secondary Level examinations in thirteen regional languages, including Tamil. Stalin pointed out that this landmark policy reform follows his direct urgent communication addressed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and persistent advocacy by various non-Hindi-speaking states.

The Chief Minister thanked Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh for responding constructively to the legitimate demands of regional youth. Stalin emphasized that conducting federal employment examinations exclusively in Hindi and English had severely disadvantaged millions of educated rural candidates across non-Hindi states, depriving them of equal employment opportunities in central government offices located within their own home states.

Stalin expressed earnest hope that linguistic equality will be extended to all recruitment examinations conducted by central agencies, including railway recruitment boards, banking personnel selection organizations, union public service commission posts, and defense services. He reiterated that the DMK and the Dravidian Model administration will continue championing full linguistic parity, demanding that all twenty-two languages listed in the Eighth Schedule receive equal official status in Union examinations.
