#WorldBooksDay
On the occasion of World Book Day, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin extended warm greetings to bibliophiles, authors, and scholars, describing good books as life's most steadfast companions. Stalin remarked that reading opens profound internal dialogues, unlocks unfamiliar worlds of scientific insight, and broadens human empathy. He noted that the DMK has historically nurtured a culture where gifting and sharing thought-provoking books is practiced as a progressive mass movement.
The Chief Minister detailed the significant steps taken by the Dravidian Model government to make quality literature accessible to every citizen. Under this cultural roadmap, annual government-sponsored book fairs are organized across all districts, public libraries are modernized with digital archives, and historic reading spaces like the Anna Centenary Library and the upcoming Kalaignar Memorial Library receive comprehensive institutional support.
Stalin affirmed that books are the most potent instruments for fueling intellectual awakenings and defeating reactionary dogmas. He called upon students, working professionals, and youth across Tamil Nadu to cultivate regular reading habits, stressing that informed, rational minds are essential for sustaining democratic progress, egalitarian social harmony, and comprehensive state advancement.
