En route to Villupuram for regional field inspections following the conclusion of the state assembly session, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin made a compassionate halt at the Government Rehabilitation Home in Paranur. Stalin spent time interacting with destitute residents undergoing leprosy rehabilitation, distributing essential welfare kits, personal assistive aids, and nutritional supplies arranged on behalf of the Dravidian progress movement.
Recalling the institutional history of the specialized care facility, the Chief Minister noted that the rehabilitation center was originally constructed utilizing public monetary contributions presented by citizens during former Chief Minister Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi's forty-eighth birthday celebrations in 1971. Stalin highlighted that Kalaignar transformed personal birthday greetings into permanent institutional support for marginalized leprosy patients who faced severe societal stigma and ostracization.
Stalin affirmed that the Paranur home stands as enduring historical proof of Kalaignar's profound empathy for society's most vulnerable citizens. Reaffirming his administration's dedication to inclusive welfare, the Chief Minister pledged that the Dravidian Model governance will continually expand dignified rehabilitation programs, medical care, and livelihood assistance for differently abled and marginalized individuals across every district of Tamil Nadu.
