Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin expressed sincere gratitude to President Droupadi Murmu for formally accepting his invitation to visit Chennai on June 5, 2023. During her state visit, the President will inaugurate the newly constructed 1,000-bed Kalaignar Memorial Multi Super Speciality Hospital at Guindy. In addition to the hospital dedication, President Murmu will participate in a grand commemorative function at Nandanam to officially commence the year-long centenary celebrations of Dravidian icon and former Chief Minister Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi.

The state-of-the-art medical institution at Guindy was constructed by the DMK administration within an ambitious timeframe, fulfilling a key policy announcement made by Stalin. Designed to deliver advanced tertiary medical treatments free of cost to economically vulnerable families, the facility features modern oncology wings, cardiac units, surgical suites, and intensive care beds. Stalin observed that dedicating such an advanced hospital on Karunanidhi's centenary marks a fitting tribute to his lifelong dedication to public healthcare.

Stalin remarked that the President's gracious acceptance underscores the national significance of both the healthcare facility and the centenary tributes. The state government is coordinating comprehensive preparations to ensure the success of the presidential visit.
