Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin commemorated the birth anniversary of revolutionary poet Bharathidasan, paying rich tribute to the literary icon whose passionate verses championed Tamil linguistic pride, rationalism, and social liberation. Quoting Bharathidasan's famous poetic injunction that society must feel deep shame if any Tamil remains uneducated due to poverty, Stalin underscored the poet's warning against subsuming Tamil cultural radiance within religious dogmas.
Stalin affirmed that the Dravidian Model administration has translated Bharathidasan's progressive poetic vision into concrete governmental policies. He pointed to state initiatives across diverse fields, including substantial budgetary funding for Tamil linguistic research, pioneering translation projects rendering global scholarly works into Tamil, and comprehensive welfare schemes promoting universal female education. Programs like the Pudhumai Penn financial assistance initiative directly reflect the poet's insistence on women's intellectual and economic emancipation.
Concluding his tribute, Stalin asserted that contemporary Tamil Nadu proudly stands as the egalitarian society envisioned by Bharathidasan in his poetry. He pledged that his administration will continue advancing secular ideals, linguistic preservation, and scientific education, ensuring that social enlightenment reaches every corner of the state without discrimination or social compromise.
