Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed a special commemorative event broadcast live to citizens on May Day, underscoring his administration's historic alliance with labor unions and unorganized workers. Stalin observed that real economic progress is measured not merely by industrial output, but by the dignity, safety, and prosperity enjoyed by the working men and women whose labor drives societal expansion. He affirmed that the Dravidian Model governance will continually safeguard workers from unfair exploitation.
During his speech, the Chief Minister recalled major legislative and administrative actions enacted by DMK governments to support manual laborers, transport workers, sanitary workers, and construction artisans. He highlighted the functioning of unorganized workers' welfare boards, subsidized housing initiatives, and social security pensions that offer essential financial cushions to underprivileged families. Stalin noted that recent administrative reviews have focused on expanding healthcare benefits and occupational safety measures across all industrial hubs.
Reiterating his cabinet's solidarity with the labor force, Stalin promised that Tamil Nadu will remain a secure haven for industrial democracy and worker rights. He called for collaborative efforts between labor and industry to sustain equitable statewide growth.
