Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin extended warm May Day greetings to working-class people across the globe, acknowledging laborers as the master sculptors whose relentless sweat and toil shape modern civilization. Marking International Workers' Day, Stalin paid floral tributes at the historic May Day memorial monument erected in Chennai by former Chief Minister Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi. He reaffirmed that the DMK and the Dravidian Model government will continually champion labor rights, equitable wages, and comprehensive welfare.
Stalin emphasized that the ideological foundations of the Dravidian movement are intrinsically intertwined with communist and socialist principles of working-class emancipation. He explained that this ideological convergence is visually symbolized by the party flag's vibrant combination of black and red. Reflecting on past governance milestones, Stalin noted that previous DMK administrations consistently pioneered progressive labor reforms, including legislating paid holidays on May Day, instituting welfare boards for unorganized laborers, and enhancing workplace protections.
Concluding his address, the Chief Minister pledged that his government will ceaselessly strive to illuminate the lives of working families through targeted welfare interventions, robust social security nets, and dignified employment conditions statewide.
