Stalin presided over the formal signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding with Hyundai Motor India, securing an enormous investment commitment of 20,000 crore rupees to expand the automotive giant's advanced manufacturing footprint within the state. Stalin characterized the major capital infusion as an undeniable testament to Tamil Nadu's premier status as an industrial powerhouse and an attractive global destination for future-oriented technological investments.
Reflecting on historical continuity, the Chief Minister recalled that former Chief Minister Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi had laid the foundation stone for Hyundai's first Indian production facility twenty-five years earlier. That visionary seed, Stalin remarked, has flourished into a massive, thriving industrial banyan tree, providing livelihood security to thousands of skilled engineers, technicians, and local ancillary suppliers throughout the Chennai industrial manufacturing corridor.
Stalin emphasized that the substantial new investment will catalyze production of next-generation electric vehicles, battery assembly infrastructure, and modern charging networks across the state. Reaffirming his administration's progressive economic roadmap, the Chief Minister pledged relentless daily commitment toward realizing Tamil Nadu's ambitious vision of becoming a one-trillion-dollar economy by 2030.
