Chief Minister M.K. Stalin rushed directly to Villupuram and Chengalpattu districts upon receiving alarming news of tragic deaths caused by the consumption of spurious, illicit chemical liquor. Stalin inspected government hospital wards, interacting with treating physicians and family members of affected patients to ensure that every victim received advanced emergency medical treatment and specialized antidotes.
Addressing senior administrative and law enforcement personnel during an emergency review meeting, the Chief Minister expressed fury over administrative laxity, issuing strict orders that illicit distillation and distribution must be eradicated with an iron hand. Stalin confirmed the immediate arrest of the primary culprits and initiated severe disciplinary suspensions against derelict local police officers who failed in their duty. He announced that both criminal cases were transferred to the Crime Branch-CID (CB-CID) for an exhaustive, impartial investigation to track illegal chemical sourcing networks across districts promptly.
Stalin appealed earnestly to the public to avoid spurious alcohol, warning of its fatal chemical toxicity. He pledged that the state government will function vigilantly and uncompromisingly to eliminate illicit liquor syndicates and safeguard public health across Tamil Nadu.
