DMK President and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin issued an impassioned call to party cadres and district functionaries to commemorate the birth centenary of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi with unprecedented public enthusiasm throughout the year. Stalin instructed party units from village branches to headquarters to organize educational, cultural, and welfare initiatives that communicate Karunanidhi's monumental historical contributions to every household across Tamil Nadu.
The Chief Minister stressed that Karunanidhi's political and administrative career was dedicated entirely to the upliftment of the Tamil people and the modern development of Tamil Nadu. Through pioneer social justice measures, free electricity for farmers, land distribution, and industrial modernization, Karunanidhi built contemporary Tamil Nadu into an egalitarian economic powerhouse. Stalin noted that remembering these historic accomplishments will re-energize party workers as the DMK proudly steps into its seventy-fifth anniversary year of tireless democratic service.
Stalin urged party cadres to uphold the core founding ideals of social justice, rationalism, state autonomy, and secular democracy championed by Karunanidhi. He called for widespread public participation to make the centenary celebrations a truly transformative civic movement across the state.
