Chief Minister M.K. Stalin convened a press conference at Chennai international airport immediately before departing on a high-level official trade and investment tour to Singapore and Japan. Stalin outlined the primary strategic goals of the nine-day overseas delegation, emphasizing the imperative to attract substantial foreign direct investments and advanced technological collaborations to Tamil Nadu.
The Chief Minister informed journalists that the state delegation would conduct comprehensive investment conclaves, engage directly with foreign corporate leaders, and hold bilateral meetings with senior government ministers in Singapore and Japan. He noted that these diplomatic engagements were specifically designed to showcase Tamil Nadu's world-class industrial corridors, skilled workforce, and progressive policy landscape ahead of the Global Investors Meet 2024. Stalin stressed that drawing niche industrial enterprises to Tamil Nadu is critical for generating high-quality engineering and manufacturing jobs for educated youth.
Stalin also underscored his intention to interact with overseas Tamil communities, recognizing their invaluable role as cultural ambassadors for the state. He assured that the visit would yield concrete industrial agreements that advance the state's vision of balanced, inclusive, and decentralized economic progress across all regions.
