Had a constructive meeting with JETRO's Chairman Mr. Ishiguro Norihiko and expressed my gratitude for JETRO's invaluable support in organising the investment conclaves in Osaka and Tokyo. The assistance of #JETRO has been crucial in fostering strong economic ties between Tamil Nadu and Japan and ensuring significant Japanese investments in our state.
I eagerly look forward to JETRO's active participation at the #GIM2024 in Chennai, which will further strengthen our partnership.

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin held a highly productive bilateral meeting in Tokyo with Ishiguro Norihiko, Chairman of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). Stalin expressed deep appreciation for JETRO's longstanding collaboration with the Tamil Nadu government, particularly acknowledging its instrumental role in organizing successful investment conclaves across Osaka and Tokyo during this important diplomatic visit.
The Chief Minister emphasized that JETRO's sustained guidance has been critical in cementing robust economic ties between Japan and Tamil Nadu, facilitating substantial Japanese capital inflows into industrial townships. During the discussions, Stalin highlighted Tamil Nadu's stable policy environment, specialized plug-and-play industrial infrastructure, and skilled technical workforce ready to support advanced manufacturing ventures. Both leaders discussed expanding Japanese investments into emerging domains, including semiconductor fabrication, green hydrogen technology, and advanced research facilities.
Stalin formally invited Chairman Norihiko and senior JETRO leadership to attend the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet scheduled for January 2024 in Chennai. He expressed confidence that JETRO's active partnership will inspire a massive delegation of Japanese enterprises to participate, further solidifying Tamil Nadu's position as Japan's preferred industrial destination in South Asia.
