Hon'ble Delhi CM Thiru @ArvindKejriwal and Hon'ble Punjab CM Thiru @BhagwantMann met me at my residence to seek DMK's support against the GNCTD ordinance.
DMK has always been opposing any move that undermines federalism and erodes states' autonomy. DMK will never remain a mute spectator to BJP's attempts of running parallel governments through the nominated Governors against elected Chief Ministers.
We support the fight of @AamAadmiParty and will oppose the unconstitutional, undemocratic ordinance in both houses of Parliament.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin at his Chennai residence to seek DMK's support against the Union Government's Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) ordinance. The meeting focused on forging collective resistance against central legislative actions that curtail the constitutional powers of elected state governments.
Stalin affirmed that the DMK has historically stood at the vanguard of defending federalism, constitutional propriety, and state autonomy. He criticized the central ordinance as an anti-democratic measure designed to nullify a Constitution Bench ruling of the Supreme Court of India that had recognized Delhi's elected government authority over administrative services. The Chief Minister condemned the ruling party's attempts to establish parallel governance through nominated Lieutenant Governors, warning that such practices subvert parliamentary democracy.
Pledging unconditional legislative support to the Aam Aadmi Party, Stalin announced that DMK members in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will vote against the contentious ordinance. He emphasized that regional democratic parties must build an unyielding national coalition to safeguard constitutional federalism from authoritarian central overreach.
