Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M.K. Stalin addressed an enormous public rally marking the commencement of the birth centenary celebrations of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. Speaking alongside prominent leaders of the Secular Progressive Alliance, Stalin offered rich poetic tributes to Karunanidhi, celebrating him as a visionary born in Thirukkuvalai who dedicated seven decades to uplifting the Tamil people. He highlighted Karunanidhi's revolutionary role as a rationalist writer, an unyielding disciple of Thanthai Periyar, and an ardent follower of Perarignar Anna.

The Chief Minister underscored that Karunanidhi transformed Tamil Nadu through landmark social justice reforms, including land reforms, slum clearance housing, free electricity for farmers, and reservations for backward classes. Stalin stated that centenary celebrations throughout the year are not mere ceremonial events, but an ongoing public mission to expand welfare services to every citizen. He praised alliance partners for their unity in celebrating Karunanidhi's ideals.

Stalin called upon cadres to work tirelessly to take Karunanidhi's achievements to younger generations across Tamil Nadu. He concluded that preserving social justice, state autonomy, and federal democracy remains the party's most sacred mission.
