Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed a press conference during his extensive field inspection of river channels and canal desilting projects in the Cauvery delta region. Stalin shared the live broadcast of the press briefing, detailing the technical measures implemented by the Water Resources Department to prepare the irrigation network before opening the Mettur Dam. He explained that desilting operations had been executed on an unprecedented scale across multiple delta districts, ensuring equitable water distribution.
Responding to queries from journalists, the Chief Minister outlined the financial allocations sanctioned for the Kuruvai cultivation package, guaranteeing adequate seed and fertilizer distribution through primary agricultural cooperative credit societies. Stalin emphasized that senior monitoring officers have been stationed across districts to resolve local irrigation bottlenecks promptly. He expressed complete satisfaction with the quality and speed of ongoing waterway desilting operations.
Stalin reaffirmed that his government treats farmer welfare as an urgent moral commitment rather than routine administrative business. He reiterated that forward-looking agricultural modernizations under the Dravidian Model governance will ensure sustained long-term food security, farmer prosperity, and rural empowerment throughout Tamil Nadu.
