Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin strongly condemned the Enforcement Directorate for subjecting State Minister V. Senthil Balaji to aggressive interrogation that caused acute chest pain requiring emergency medical hospitalization. Stalin questioned the genuine intent of the federal agency, noting that such coercive procedures were deployed even after the minister had explicitly offered complete cooperation with investigators. He criticized agency officials for blatantly violating statutory legal protections and basic human rights norms during their prolonged interrogation.
The Chief Minister declared that the DMK will never be intimidated by heavy-handed pressure or the weaponization of central investigating agencies orchestrated by the Bharatiya Janata Party. He characterized these aggressive raids as authoritarian intimidation aimed at destabilizing opposition-ruled states ahead of national polls. Stalin underscored that such vindictive actions betray the constitutional boundaries governing federal law enforcement bodies in a parliamentary democracy.
Stalin affirmed that the DMK will fearlessly fight these unlawful actions through transparent legal remedies and resolute public democratic platforms across the entire country. He warned that the citizens of Tamil Nadu will teach the ruling party a fitting electoral lesson in 2024.
