I have arrived at Patna and received a warm welcome from Hon'ble Chief Minister of Bihar Thiru @NitishKumar, Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Thiru @yadavtejashwi and IAS officers from Bihar Tamil Sangam here. Feeling elated to be in the land that has given us the likes of 'The Light of Asia' Buddha, 'Jannayak' Karpoori Thakur and Thiru. B.P. Mandal.

No surprises that the war cry of a united opposition is from here, the land of social justice, to end this fascist, autocratic regime and allow the rebirth of a secular, democratic India.

Editorial context

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin arrived in Patna to participate in the landmark consultation meeting of secular opposition parties convened to build national democratic solidarity. Stalin was accorded an affectionate reception by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, and senior civil servants representing the Bihar Tamil Sangam. He expressed profound elation at visiting Bihar, noting that the region gave birth to historic reformers including Gautama Buddha, Jannayak Karpoori Thakur, and Mandal Commission architect B.P. Mandal.

The Chief Minister observed that it is entirely fitting for a nationwide democratic resistance to arise from Bihar, a historic bastion of social justice. He declared that regional and national democratic parties must unite to end autocratic centralization and safeguard constitutional liberties across India. Stalin emphasized that the Dravidian movement shares an enduring ideological bond with North Indian socialist movements dedicated to backward class empowerment.

Stalin affirmed that the opposition gathering in Patna marks the commencement of an irreversible collective struggle to preserve secular democracy ahead of the 2024 general elections. He reiterated Tamil Nadu's steadfast commitment to spearheading this crucial national movement.
