#50YearsofAnnaFlyover கொண்டாடும் இன்றைய நாளின் #KolathurVisit-இல், ஸ்டீபன்சன் சாலையில் புதிதாகக் கட்டப்பட்ட மேம்பாலத்தைத் திறந்து வைத்து, அதற்கு முன்னாள் சட்டமன்ற உறுப்பினர் 'செங்கை சிவம்' அவர்களின் பெயரினைச் சூட்டி மகிழ்ந்தேன். பல்வேறு முடிவுற்ற பணிகளையும் திறந்து வைத்தேன்.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin visited his home constituency of Kolathur to inaugurate the newly constructed railway overbridge on Stephenson Road, officially naming it after veteran Dravidian leader and former legislator Chengai Sivam. The occasion coincided with the golden jubilee of the historic Anna Flyover on Mount Road, which was inaugurated by former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi exactly fifty years earlier on July 1, 1973. Stalin reflected on how the iconic Anna Flyover continues to stand majestically as a testament to visionary urban infrastructure planning.
During his constituency inspection, the Chief Minister inaugurated multiple completed civic projects, including upgraded stormwater drain networks, newly paved interior roads, and modern community welfare centers. Stalin highlighted that the Dravidian Model of infrastructure development does not merely cater to existing municipal demands but meticulously anticipates the traffic and demographic needs of future generations. He noted that the Stephenson Road bridge will eliminate prolonged traffic congestion for residents across Perambur, Kolathur, and Otteri.
Stalin affirmed that the state government will continue accelerating capital works across Chennai and other municipal corporations. He reiterated that upgrading urban public facilities remains central to his development agenda.
