Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed the 36th Annual Tamil Convention virtually, organized jointly by the Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America and the Sacramento Tamil Mandram in California. Speaking on the convention theme, Antiquity: The Pride of Tamils, Stalin highlighted the historic antiquity, cultural sophistication, and maritime achievements of the Tamil civilization. He noted that the Tamil language possesses the unique power to unite people across continents and inspire generations toward intellectual and social progress.
The Chief Minister outlined the extensive archaeological excavations undertaken by his administration across prehistoric sites including Keezhadi, Sivagalai, Korkai, Mayiladumparai, and Gangaikonda Cholapuram. He explained that carbon dating and scientific analysis of recovered artifacts have pushed back the antiquity of Tamil civilization to the sixth century BCE, proving that an urbanized, literate society flourished along the Vaigai river basin. Stalin extended a warm public invitation to diaspora Tamils to visit the modern Keezhadi museum.
Stalin urged the international Tamil community to preserve linguistic heritage among youth while achieving global professional heights. He reaffirmed that the DMK government remains committed to supporting overseas Tamil welfare.
