Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin delivered the inaugural address at the Agri Business Festival 2023 held at Chennai Trade Centre, reaffirming his administration's deep commitment to agrarian modernization. Stalin emphasized that real agricultural prosperity depends on moving beyond subsistence farming toward value-addition, agro-processing, and aggressive direct retail marketing. He noted that Tamil Nadu is leading the country by creating an exclusive agricultural budget each year, systematically investing in soil enrichment, drip irrigation, and cold storage chains.

Addressing farmers, agricultural scientists, and entrepreneurs, the Chief Minister praised rural cooperatives and Farmer Producer Organizations for adopting modern food technology and hygienic packaging standards. He stated that eliminating parasitic intermediaries through state-sponsored expos ensures that farmers receive the maximum share of the consumer rupee. Stalin urged corporate retailers and urban consumers to form direct sourcing ties with state farm collectives to foster rural prosperity.

The Chief Minister assured farmers that the DMK government stands firmly as their dependable ally. He concluded that agricultural innovation and farmer dignity remain central to the Dravidian Model's vision of balanced, inclusive economic growth across Tamil Nadu.
