Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin paid glowing tributes to the Raja of Panagal, Sir Panaganti Ramarayaningar, on his birth anniversary, honoring him as the founding patriarch of Dravidian legislative governance. Stalin recounted that as Premier of the Madras Presidency during Justice Party rule in the 1920s, the Raja of Panagal demonstrated how state authority could be transformed into an instrument of revolutionary social liberation. He recalled that former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi first developed his ideological foundation as a schoolboy by studying an essay on Panagal's historic achievements.

The Chief Minister highlighted landmark legislative measures introduced under the Raja of Panagal's administration, including the historic First Communal Government Order that legally instituted affirmative action representation. His ministry abolished mandatory Sanskrit knowledge for entering government medical colleges, enacted the Hindu Religious Endowments Act to protect temple properties from private monopolization, and extended civic voting franchise to women.

Stalin recalled that rationalist leader Thanthai Periyar revered the Raja of Panagal as an irreplaceable pioneer of social justice. He pledged that the DMK administration will faithfully walk in Panagal's footsteps to build a modern, progressive Tamil Nadu.
