Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin issued stringent administrative directives during a high-level review of law and order with district superintendents of police and senior commanders in Chennai. Stalin ordered complete eradication of the manufacture, transport, and sale of illicit spurious liquor, demanding strict accountability from jurisdictional police leadership. He instructed every district superintendent of police to conduct relentless operations against narcotic distribution networks, terming substance abuse a grave social menace that must be systematically eliminated to protect state youth.
The Chief Minister emphasized that law enforcement agencies must pay focused attention to preventing crimes against women and children, ensuring swift investigations, rigorous prosecution, and deterrent convictions. He declared an absolute policy of zero tolerance regarding custodial deaths, mandating that every citizen complaint must be promptly and transparently registered in official police stations. Stalin instructed officers to maintain humane police conduct and uphold constitutional standards.
Stalin observed that public peace and social stability form the bedrock of Tamil Nadu's rapid economic and industrial development. He urged the police force to function proactively as a preventive department that averts criminal activity.
