Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Madras Institute of Technology in Chromepet, Chennai, paying rich tributes to the premier institution's monumental contributions to national engineering and scientific education. Stalin recalled that visionary industrialist C. Rajam founded MIT in 1949 to pioneer specialized aeronautical, automobile, and electronic engineering disciplines, nurturing brilliant minds including India's revered missile scientist and former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

The Chief Minister emphasized that Tamil Nadu's preeminent status as India's leading industrial and technological destination is grounded in the high quality of its state engineering institutions. He noted that the Dravidian Model governance continually invests in cutting-edge collegiate infrastructure, research centers, and industry linkages through initiatives like Naan Mudhalvan, ensuring students acquire world-class skills aligned with fourth industrial revolution requirements. Stalin urged faculty and researchers to pioneer innovations in green hydrogen, electric vehicles, and aerospace technologies.

Stalin congratulated MIT alumni, faculty, and students on reaching the seventy-five-year milestone. He pledged that the state government will generously support MIT's advanced research initiatives to maintain its position as a premier global technological institute.
