Understanding the current challenges faced by Manipur sportspersons, I cordially invite athletes from Manipur for sports training in Tamil Nadu ahead of #KheloIndia2024. Hon'ble Minister @Udhaystalin has also promised his support to facilitate their stay and training here.
Let's embrace the Tamil spirit of "Yaathum Oore Yaavarum Kelir" (To us, the world is one, all humans are our kin).
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin extended a generous official invitation to sportspersons from conflict-affected Manipur, offering them comprehensive training facilities, modern sports infrastructure, and hospitable accommodation across Tamil Nadu. Acknowledging the severe disruptions to athletic training caused by ongoing civil unrest in Manipur, Stalin affirmed that talented competitors preparing for Khelo India Youth Games 2024 should not see their sporting careers compromised by unfortunate regional crises.
The Chief Minister confirmed that Youth Welfare and Sports Development Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu will oversee complete logistical arrangements, including accommodation, nutritional support, and access to elite coaches. Invoking the timeless Sangam Tamil maxim Yaathum Oore Yaavarum Kelir, which declares all the world to be our home and all human beings our kin, Stalin emphasized that Tamil Nadu embodies universal fraternity by standing in solidarity with distressed athletes.
Stalin asserted that sports represent a powerful unifying force that transcends geographic boundaries and heals social divisions. He expressed hope that providing dedicated training environments will enable Manipur athletes to realize their sporting potential and achieve podium success at national competitions.
