Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the first phase of the field registration drive for the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai initiative at Thoppur in Dharmapuri district, reviewing public registration arrangements. Stalin observed the digital biometric verification process, documentation checkpoints, and citizen waiting facilities arranged by revenue authorities. He directed district officials and field volunteers to ensure that every eligible woman receives courteous assistance without facing cumbersome bureaucratic delays or standing in exhausting queues.

The Chief Minister explained that launching this revolutionary welfare scheme in Dharmapuri holds special historical significance, as former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi pioneered the nationwide Self-Help Group movement for women in this very district decades ago. Stalin emphasized that the monthly financial transfer of one thousand rupees directly into bank accounts will provide financial security, enabling homemakers to meet medical expenses, educational needs, and daily household priorities independently.

Stalin reiterated that the Dravidian Model governance evaluates state prosperity by the social standing and economic independence of women. He assured citizens that administrative teams will work tirelessly across all districts to complete beneficiary enrollment smoothly ahead of the grand September launch.
