Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin presided over the grand valedictory ceremony of the Chief Minister Trophy 2023 sports tournament in Chennai, celebrating the enthusiastic participation of over 3.7 lakh athletes from across the state. Stalin declared that every single boy, girl, school student, college youth, government employee, and differently-abled competitor who contested on the field is a true champion, assuring them that the Dravidian Model government stands firmly beside them in realizing their sporting ambitions.
The Chief Minister extended special commendations to Youth Welfare and Sports Development Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and sports department officials for orchestrating the historic sporting movement with flawless administrative excellence. He noted that decentralized competitions held across village panchayats, taluks, and districts have successfully identified raw athletic talent that previously remained hidden in rural heartlands. Stalin observed that sports provide essential mental fortitude and physical vitality, enabling youth to face life's challenges with courage and discipline.
Stalin expressed pride in Tamil Nadu athletes winning international medals, pledging expanded financial cash awards, modern equipment, and scientific coaching infrastructure. He urged young sportspersons to aim for global podiums and bring everlasting glory to the state.
