Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin celebrated the establishment of Thozhi Hostels as modern, secure, and affordable residential facilities designed specifically for progressive working women across urban centres in the state. Stalin observed that safe accommodation in growing cities provides essential institutional support for women migrating from rural towns to pursue career opportunities. He described the hostels as a natural continuation of the Dravidian movement's historic legacy of empowering women through legal and economic independence.
The Chief Minister placed Thozhi Hostels alongside landmark reforms such as statutory property inheritance rights for daughters, thirty-three percent reservation in local bodies, the Pudhumai Penn college incentive scheme, and the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai basic income program. Stalin drew a historical comparison to Dr. C. Natesanar's legendary Dravidian Home in 1916, which provided hostel facilities for non-Brahmin students in Chennai, affirming that Thozhi Hostels will occupy an equally revered place in modern welfare history.
Stalin reiterated that real economic progress is impossible without full female workforce participation. He assured women that the state government will persistently expand modern hostel networks and workplace safety mechanisms across every industrial district.
