Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin warmly congratulated Dravidar Kazhagam President K. Veeramani on being chosen for the prestigious Thagaisal Thamizhar Award for 2023. Conferring the government honour during the historic centenary year of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, Stalin paid reverent homage to Veeramani's eight decades of unbroken public service championing social justice and rationalist thought. He highlighted that Veeramani took to public speaking at the age of ten, dedicating his entire life to the self-respect movement.
The Chief Minister described the veteran leader as a living embodiment of the Dravidian renaissance, whose tireless propagation of Periyar E.V. Ramasamy's ideals dismantled caste barriers and advanced human dignity across Tamil society. Stalin emphasized that the Tamil Nadu government feels immense institutional pride in celebrating a stalwart whose intellectual contributions, scholarly writings, and fearless campaigns enriched modern democratic consciousness. He noted that Veeramani's lifelong devotion to the triad of race, language, and country inspires generations of progressive cadres.
Stalin prayed for Veeramani's continued good health and longevity, reaffirming that the Dravidian Model government remains deeply committed to safeguarding constitutional social justice and rationalist values statewide.
