Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin conducted an unannounced inspection at the Palavanthangal police station in Chennai to observe routine law enforcement operations and review personnel welfare firsthand. Interacting directly with on-duty constables, station writers, and sub-inspectors, Stalin commended police personnel for working tirelessly day and night to maintain communal peace and public security. He expressed particular satisfaction upon interacting with women police personnel executing challenging responsibilities with exemplary professionalism and dedication.
The Chief Minister reviewed the functioning of the citizen reception counter, recalling that his administration appointed 912 public receptionists and data entry assistants across police stations in August 2022. These dedicated receptionists ensure that citizens visiting police facilities are received courteously, listened to with empathy, and assisted promptly with accurate complaint registration. Stalin observed counter workflows firsthand, assessing how staff address public grievances, record petitions, and guide visitors through administrative procedures smoothly.
Stalin emphasized that the police force must conduct itself as an approachable friend of the public to earn enduring community trust. He instructed officers to handle every citizen petition with fairness, accountability, promptness, and unwavering integrity across all districts.
