Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin led a massive statewide anti-drug mobilization under the Drug Free Tamil Nadu campaign, where over one crore school and college students concurrently administered a solemn pledge against substance abuse. Marking the occasion with decisive enforcement action, the state police department incinerated and destroyed 16,000 kilograms of confiscated narcotics, psychotropic substances, and contraband across designated industrial incinerator facilities statewide.
The Chief Minister addressed students, parents, educators, and community representatives, asserting that eradicating the drug menace requires coordinated societal mobilization alongside ruthless law enforcement. He highlighted that special enforcement units are dismantling organized narcotics smuggling networks, freezing financial assets of drug traffickers, and intensifying surveillance near educational institutions. Stalin stressed that youth must protect their physical well-being, mental sharpness, and future aspirations by rejecting dangerous intoxicants.
Stalin affirmed that creating a drug-free society is an uncompromising generational duty of his administration. He called upon civil society organizations, parents, and youth clubs to join hands with the government, ensuring that Tamil Nadu nurtures a healthy, vibrant, and empowered younger generation.
He concluded that relentless enforcement combined with sustained civic awareness will successfully build a healthy, vibrant, and drug-free Tamil Nadu.
