Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin strongly condemned the brutal caste-motivated assault on Dalit student Chinnadurai and his sister by intermediate caste classmates in Nanguneri, Tirunelveli district. Declaring that barbaric violence against young students exposes the poisonous persistence of caste consciousness, Stalin announced that the state government will bear all medical treatment and educational expenses for the victims, ensuring uncompromised healthcare and future schooling.
The Chief Minister confirmed that law enforcement agencies acted swiftly, arresting all perpetrators involved in the horrific assault. He called upon the teaching community, parents, and civic organizations to recognize their paramount moral duty in uprooting caste prejudices and instilling universal equality, empathy, and mutual brotherhood in the minds of impressionable students. Stalin stressed that hatred yields only tragedy and self-destruction, reminding youth that speaking the same mother tongue binds all Tamils as children of one mother.
Stalin affirmed that his administration will enforce zero tolerance against caste atrocities and discrimination. He reiterated that building an egalitarian society free from social prejudice remains the core historical mission of the Dravidian movement.
He concluded that stringent legal prosecution of caste crimes must accompany systematic educational reforms to eradicate caste discrimination permanently.
