Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin constituted a one-man committee headed by retired High Court Judge K. Chandru to examine and recommend actionable strategies to eliminate caste consciousness and communal polarization among school and college students. Stalin declared that the emergence of casteist attitudes among the student community poses a severe threat to social harmony, civilizational progress, and the peaceful future of Tamil Nadu.
The Chief Minister instructed the committee to conduct extensive consultations and submit comprehensive recommendations for institutional reforms, ethical curriculum integration, grievance redressal systems, and student peer mentoring. Stalin issued an open appeal to educationists, students, parents, sociologists, community thinkers, and journalists to share their constructive insights and proposals with Justice Chandru. He underscored that educational campuses must remain egalitarian spaces of mutual learning and fraternity.
Stalin affirmed that the Dravidian Model governance will take uncompromising legal and social measures to uproot caste divisions and promote constitutional fraternity. He concluded that cultivating rationalism, equality, and compassion among youth is vital to safeguarding Tamil Nadu's social justice legacy.
Stalin reiterated that schools must nurture enlightened young citizens free from social prejudices, upholding universal brotherhood across all communities.
