Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin expressed profound sorrow over the tragic deaths of medical aspirant Jagatheeswaran and his grief-stricken father Selvasekar, who both lost their lives to suicide in Chennai due to the distress of failing NEET. Extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, Stalin vowed that these heartbreaking losses must mark the final tragedy on the altar of the centralized entrance examination system.
The Chief Minister made a deeply emotional appeal to young students across Tamil Nadu, imploring them to maintain courage and never succumb to suicidal despair. He assured the student community that temporary examination setbacks do not define human worth or future professional potential. Stalin underscored that his administration is fighting relentlessly to dismantle the oppressive testing regime, emphasizing that an alternative, student-friendly medical admission system will soon be achieved through sustained democratic and legal pressure.
Stalin urged parents, educators, and mental health counselors to provide unconditional psychological support to students during academic stress. He reiterated his unwavering resolve to eradicate NEET and establish equitable educational pathways for all youth.
He affirmed that no examination is worth a human life, calling on everyone to unite against testing commercialization.
