Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced the statewide expansion of the flagship Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme across 31,008 government primary schools, benefiting over 15.75 lakh young students. Following the outstanding success of the initial phase launched in 1,545 schools, which remarkably boosted classroom attendance and childhood nutrition, Stalin scheduled the official expansion launch for August 25 in Nagapattinam district.
The Chief Minister issued an inclusive appeal inviting all Members of the Legislative Assembly and Members of Parliament across party lines to participate actively and inaugurate the scheme in schools within their respective constituencies. Stalin emphasized that ensuring nutritious morning food for school children is a monumental historic milestone in Tamil Nadu's social development, transcending partisan political affiliations. He pointed out that providing hot meals directly alleviates morning household distress for working parents.
Stalin reiterated that universal child nutrition represents a core moral priority of Dravidian Model administration. He affirmed that this historic welfare program cements Tamil Nadu's national standing as an egalitarian pioneer in comprehensive child development and universal primary education across the Indian federation, ensuring holistic nourishment for every student.
