Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin commended Tamil cinema achievers honoured at the 69th National Film Awards, highlighting the triumph of Kadaisi Vivasayi as the best Tamil feature film. Stalin congratulated actor Vijay Sethupathi, director M. Manikandan, and late protagonist Nallandi for their grounded cinematic achievement. He also felicitated singer Shreya Ghoshal for her playback rendition in Iravin Nizhal, composer Srikanth Deva for his special jury certificate in Karuvarai, and the creative team behind Sirpigalin Sirpangal in the educational film category.
While celebrating Tamil cinema's artistic excellence, Stalin expressed sharp dismay over conferring the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration to a controversial production rejected by objective critics. He warned that partisan favoritism in evaluating cultural creations degrades the credibility and enduring dignity of national honours. Stalin maintained that national awards must remain strictly non-partisan, secular, and merit-based rather than serving narrow ideological propaganda.
Stalin reiterated that cinematic honours earn lasting historical prestige only when free from administrative bias. He reaffirmed that artistic integrity, social responsibility, and cultural excellence must guide official recognition across Indian cinema, preserving creative freedom for future generations.
