Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin marked a historic milestone in educational welfare by launching the statewide expansion of the Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme from the Panchayat Union Primary School in Thirukkuvalai, the revered birthplace of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. Stalin recalled that from the pioneer mid-day meal introduced during Justice Party governance in 1920 to the noon-meal scheme, Tamil Nadu has continually innovated nutritional interventions, culminating in universal morning breakfast across government primary schools.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the historic expansion now provides hot, nutritious morning meals to more than seventeen lakh elementary school students across 31,008 government schools statewide. He thanked all elected representatives, including ministers, legislators, and local body leaders, who participated simultaneously to launch the program in their respective constituencies. Stalin declared that no child in Tamil Nadu should ever experience the agony of classroom hunger, affirming that their only hunger should be the pursuit of knowledge.

Stalin emphasized that the breakfast scheme effectively eliminates nutritional deficiencies, increases daily classroom attendance, and alleviates morning domestic pressure for working-class mothers. He concluded that investing in child health and primary education represents the finest achievement of Dravidian governance.
