Deeply saddened by the tragic incident near Madurai Railway junction where nine precious lives were lost in a train fire accident. My heartfelt condolences go out to the families of the deceased. To support the affected families, an ex-gratia of 3 lakh INR will be provided.
I have instructed Hon'ble Ministers @ptrmadurai, @pmoorthy21 and officials to ensure that the injured receive the highest quality treatment. All measures will be taken to transport the mortal remains of the deceased to their hometowns.

Moorthy, along with the Madurai District Collector and senior healthcare administrators, to rush to the accident site and supervise emergency medical relief operations. Stalin instructed hospitals to deliver the highest quality specialized medical care to all injured passengers admitted for treatment. He also ordered state authorities to coordinate closely with railway officials and transport the mortal remains of the deceased respectfully to their respective hometowns.
Stalin commended local rescue personnel, firefighters, and hospital medical teams for their swift emergency intervention that prevented further casualty escalation. He affirmed that the Tamil Nadu government stands steadfastly in solidarity with the affected families, providing comprehensive administrative assistance, medical support, and grief counseling during this painful tragedy.
