Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin commended the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department after it completed the historic consecration of 1,000 temples across the state, marked by ceremonies at the West Mambalam Kasi Viswanathar Temple in Chennai. Stalin observed that the Dravidian Model administration has demonstrated exemplary governance across all sectors, ensuring that historic cultural shrines receive dedicated preservation and equitable public administration.
Highlighting the department's remarkable administrative achievements over the past two years, the Chief Minister pointed out that the government successfully recovered encroached temple properties valued at more than 5,000 crore rupees statewide. He noted that these retrieved lands, commercial complexes, and assets are now systematically utilized for temple maintenance, welfare amenities for pilgrims, and charitable activities. Stalin praised the fact that devout believers across Tamil Nadu openly celebrate the transparency, efficiency, and dedication demonstrated by the department.
Stalin extended his appreciation to HR&CE Minister P.K. Sekarbabu, departmental commissioners, engineers, and administrative staff for their untiring field supervision. He affirmed that the DMK government protects the heritage of all spiritual traditions with fairness, secularism, and institutional integrity.
