Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin commemorated the memorial day of renowned freedom fighter and Dalit rights champion Tyagi Immanuel Sekaranar, paying glowing tribute to his historic struggle for the dignity and emancipation of oppressed communities. Stalin recalled Sekaranar's courage in challenging entrenched caste discrimination and working tirelessly to secure basic civil liberties, social equality, and voting rights for marginalized rural citizens during the freedom movement.

Responding to long-standing representations from the public, social activists, and descendants of the late leader, the Chief Minister announced that the state government will construct a grand memorial hall featuring a bronze statue of Immanuel Sekaranar at Paramakudi in Ramanathapuram district. Stalin allocated three crore rupees for the project to commemorate Sekaranar's upcoming centenary year, fulfilling an important community aspiration. He emphasized that memorializing egalitarian leaders educates future generations about the immense sacrifices made to establish democratic equality.

Stalin affirmed that the Dravidian Model administration remains deeply committed to advancing the constitutional rights and socio-economic empowerment of Scheduled Castes. He stated that honoring historic crusaders against caste oppression reinforces ongoing governmental policies guaranteeing equal dignity, educational advancement, and social protection.
