Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated Hitachi Energy India's largest Global Technology and Innovation Centre in Chennai, marking a major milestone in high-technology industrial investments. Operating with more than 2,500 energy transition technologists, the state-of-the-art facility serves as an international center of excellence for grid automation, advanced power transformers, high-voltage equipment, and renewable energy grid integration.
Stalin recalled that just eight months prior, in February 2023, the company had established its high-voltage direct current and power quality plant in Chennai. The rapid completion and inauguration of this expanded innovation campus highlights the exceptional speed of project execution and administrative clearance in Tamil Nadu. The Chief Minister noted that the state's enduring partnership with Japanese industrial leaders continues to grow, attracting substantial capital ahead of the upcoming Global Investors Meet.
Inviting Hitachi Energy to act as an international goodwill ambassador for Tamil Nadu, Stalin encouraged global enterprises to invest in the state's flourishing manufacturing ecosystem. He concluded that Tamil Nadu's deep talent pool, stable electricity infrastructure, and supportive policies make it the premier hub for sustainable energy innovation across South Asia.
